Rick Swanson is the Director of Marketing and Development at North Country HealthCare, a community health center that provides quality affordable healthcare to people regardless of their ability to pay. He has lived in Flagstaff for twenty-five years, and was elected to his second term on the Flagstaff City Council in 2006.

Rick has worked at a corporation, W.L. Gore and Associates. He has worked at a non-profit organization, North Country HealthCare. He once owned a children’s bookstore in Flagstaff’s historic downtown. He has served on various boards, including the Literacy Volunteers of Coconino County, and the High Country News, a newspaper that covers environmental and social issues of the intermountain West.  He was the director of the Northern Arizona Book Festival for the years 2000 through 2003.  He served as President of the Arizona Rural Health Association in 2007-08.
