The Flagstaff Police Department jurisdiction is just over 64 square miles. The Flagstaff population is 72,961 as of 2017. The Flagstaff Police Department is comprised of roughly 119 sworn police officers and 60 non-sworn support staff positions. Our mission is to protect and preserve life, property, public order, and the rights of the individual by providing exemplary service through a partnership of shared responsibility and trust with the law-abiding members of our community. We accomplish our mission through the prevention of crime and disorder by using community policing programs, data driven decision making, and other proactive tactics to suppress crime and apprehend offenders. Our department is made up of two main sections, The Operations Section and the Support Services Section.
