Operations

Operations is most visible section, as it consists of uniform patrol and criminal investigations. Our officers respond to approximately 45,000 Calls for service annually. The Majority of officer work on one of the many patrol squads. Others may be assigned to various specialty positions. Some of the specialty positions we have include: State Gang Task force, School Resource Officer, Narcotics Officer, and Housing Officer. Some of the specialty teams our officers may be assigned to outside of their normal patrol duties include: Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), Bomb Team, Honor Guard, and Collision Reconstruction Team.

Our Criminal Investigations section consists of two squads and a criminal analyst. They work approximately 3,000-4,000 cases a year, which are mostly felonies and missing persons. Investigators assigned to this unit may also be assigned to specialty teams to include:

  • Child Abduction Response Team
  • FBI Violent Crime Task Force
  • U.S. Marshals Task force
  • Multi Agency Shoot Team
