Overtime / Compensatory Time

Non-exempt employees may receive pay or compensatory time off (per department policy), at the rate of one and one-half times the regular rate at which the person is paid, for time worked over 40 hours in a work week. Overtime hours are defined as only those hours that a non-exempt employee physically works in excess of 40 hours in a work week. 

Vacation leave, sick leave, paid holidays and other absences (paid or otherwise) do not count toward the 40-hour work week for determining the number of overtime hours.
