The Flagstaff Aquaplex

Due to the increase in COVID-19 community transmission, the City of Flagstaff will require masks in city facilities starting July 30, 2021. This requirement also includes those who are fully vaccinated.

This change is in alignment with recent guidelines from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) that vaccinated individuals “wear a mask indoors in public if you are in an area of substantial or high transmission.” The CDC has designated Coconino County as an area with “substantial transmission.“

This requirement only applies to city facilities while indoors and does not to private businesses or establishments. Private businesses and establishments still have the ability to require mask wearing inside in their business.

The Flagstaff Aquaplex Inclement Weather Policy

It is recommended that you call the Aquaplex at 928-213-2300 if the weather is questionable to find out if the pool is open.

For the safety of our patrons, the pool will close when lightning is detected 5 miles away from the facility and will reopen 30 minutes after the last strike.

Due to inclement weather conditions throughout the winter and for the safety of our patrons and staff, the following procedures are set in place.

  • The Aquaplex will open at 8 am on Flagstaff Unified School District (FUSD) delayed start and/or cancellation days.
  • Late openings or early closures will be determined on a case basis and the decision is made by City Leadership. We will monitor the conditions as they arise throughout the day and make decisions with our staff and patron's safety in mind.
