Curb ramp installation on Aspen Avenue

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz – The city of Flagstaff will install a curb ramp on the north and south sides of Aspen Avenue between N. San Francisco Street and N. Leroux Street to provide pedestrian access to Heritage Square. This work will be performed by Eagle Mountain Construction and will be completed over a two -week period starting May 3, 2021.

During this two-week construction period, impacts to one lane of Aspen Avenue between Leroux Street and San Francisco Street alternating north/south are necessary to accommodate the required removal of existing sidewalk and installation of new curb ramps and crosswalk.  Aspen Avenue will remain open during the work, with one lane available for the traveling public and parking spaces on Aspen Avenue will be temporarily closed, alternating on either side of the street to accommodate the construction activities.

This project will also require one week of traffic impacts (May 17-21) for asphalt work and the installation of a decorative pedestrian crosswalk. This crosswalk will be installed by city streets crews in support of the Downtown Business Association to improve the downtown area in support of local businesses.
